This is a blog dedicated to music. I've been working on originals and covers over the past few years. So each post on this blog will be a home-made recording of a song. A song will feature myself and, at times, other local musical friends from my home area of Eastern Long Island.
This project, Chilero, is the progression of music after doing a bunch of songs in a thing I called, "The Esteli Balcony Covers Series"... which was recorded on a wonderful and amazing balcony while living in Nicaragua.
This is what the setup was like back then. Acoustic guitar, tascam portable studio, and two fold-up chairs. Fifteen parts were recorded and were featured on my blog called "of Nicaragua"... Here was the address to that site... estelicentral.blogspot.com
Anyway, now the setup for Chilero is different. In a basement, and not a balcony. I guess location-wise it's not much of a progression, but more of a regression... hah
A bit more high tech now... as you can see.
And like a chef might instruct you on his preferred way the food should be eaten, to properly obtain all the flavors in the best way, I would recommend using anything but laptop speakers to hear these songs (I watch a ton of "Chopped", the best show on the Food Network, and TV for that matter, hence the chef comparison)... Speakers on laptops are the worst. The way I recorded it would sound best with headphones... but whatever you wish to do, it's just a suggestion.
So each week I'm going to be posting at least one recording, either original or some form of a cover, on this blog. Save this site, follow it, and check back if you are interested in listening to an ever-expanding repertoire of songs.
Thanks for your attention!
Enjoy...
cool! It too early in the morning to check out the audio but will check it out at work on the pirate wireless I found!
